Solo female Roadtrip through the U.S. Southwest
Hi! I’m going on my first solo road trip through the southwest leaving from Alabama. I’m going with my cat. I’ve never done a Roadtrip of this magnitude or any really but I have traveled long distances alone and with my cat more than a few times. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations, things to consider, ideas, landmarks, any kind of insight at all would be helpful!
Here’s some background: - I’m a black woman - I’m going in October and planned on it being about a two week trip round trip. - I was gonna go from AL to OKC then to ABQ for a few days for the hot air balloon festival then head to PHX for a concert with a friend. After that, I wanted to explore Utah for a few days, maybe car/truck camp out there a few days before heading back - I was going to rent a vehicle for that time being (any recs for that?) - I haven’t camped that much but I figure it would be easier in the truck I rent. Also plan to stay in a few Airbnb’s and hotels along the way. Mostly camping in UT. - my cat is great for traveling for long periods of time and we’ve been practicing. He enjoys the ride
Literally any words of advice would be nice. Be cool/gentle. I’m open to all advice and learning. I think it’ll be a lot of fun. TIA :)
