Road trip spanning the entirety of US Highway 395 (Laurier, WA - Hesperia, CA) - What do I need to know?
Hi fellow road-trippers! Like the title says, I'm working on putting together a road trip spanning US Highway 395 from end to end. Right now it's in the very beginning phase, so I haven't figured out the logistics. I realize that it will require at least 10 days to really enjoy the sites without feeling rushed. This is the first road trip I've ever planned completely on my own, so my primary questions are:
- Best time of year? I'd like to avoid snow as much as possible, and fire season (like right now) is terrible, too.
- North to South, or South to North? Homebase is Central California, so I'm obviously a lot closer to the southern end.
- Places/towns to avoid?
- Funky, off-the-beaten-track type of places to check out?
I'm not in a rush to do this because of COVID being what it is, plus I need to save up money. But the more knowledge the better! TIA.
