Looking to do a road trip to visit family in Germany from England, what do I need to prepare?

I’m going with my mum to visit family and we’re planning to go at the end of the month but we’re still in the planning stages.

My only concerns are the journey. The plan is to drive non stop as it’s a 12 hour journey. I’m on an O2 contract which includes my data to be usable in Europe so I’m confident my maps will work on my phone throughout the journey. We’ve budgeted for petrol. As far as COVID, we’re both vaccinated and have the NHS COVID pass on our phones which the government website says it will suffice. Other than that, what else do we need to do?

Any advice would be appreciated!
