Washington D.C to Montana-Wyoming. Too ambitious?
Hello fellow road trippers. This is my first post. I'm planning my first cross country road trip in 2022, from DC to Montana ( Glacier NP) and Wyoming ( Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP). I plan to make stops and stay overnight in 9 states which will also be my first visit to all these states. This is a fun nature exploration trip and I'm flexible with my itinerary. I'm planning to take 2-3 weeks off from work for this trip. Thanks to Google map and TripAdvisory, I've made a list of all the main attractions ( focused on top 3) and preferred lodging/hotels at each overnight stop. I'm wondering if it's too ambitious. As of now, i'm planning a solo trip but I won't be surprised if family member(s) want to join. I was going to add a picture of my drive route but I'm not sure how to do that on my mobile phone. Here is my tentative route list and approximate hours of drive to each city.
- DC
- Cincinnati, OH ( 1 night) 8 hrs
- Chicago, IL ( 2 nights) 5 hrs
- Minneapolis, MN ( 1 night) 6 hrs 30m
- Bismarck, ND (1 night) 6 hrs 15 m
- Great Falls, MT ( 2 nights) 8 hrs 30m
- Jackson, WY ( 2 nights) 6 hrs 30m
- Rapid City, SD ( 1 night) 8 hrs
- Des Moines, IA ( 1 night) 8hrs 45m
- Indianapolis, IN ( 1 night) 7 hrs
- Columbus, OH ( 1 night) 3 hrs
- DC -6hrs
Thanks!
