Los Angeles to Baton Rouge
Hey all. I'm planning a roadtrip for when I (possibly) go to university and would like to see if anyone has any suggestions for cool places to check out on the way.
I first plan on going through Flagstaff and then to Albequerque as I have friends I could stay with for a night. In New Mexico I'd like to check out the Roswell museum and the continue southeast to Austin. My mother suggests I check out New Braunfels which I will probably do. Then I pass through Houston, which I'm unsure if I should bother stopping in, and I want to visit Beaumont and Nederland on the way through to Lake Charles and then Baton Rouge.
I am open to restaurant recommendations, museums, any neat little towns worth stopping in. I'm willing to take a week for this trip and would like to see some interesting stuff. I've taken the 40 to flagstaff before to camp and have also gone through to Oklahoma, so once I leave Albequerque and head southeast I will be in new territory, that is when I'd most like to start touring new or interesting places.
