Koolatron Thermoelectric Cooler Experiences?

Hello folks!

I'm planning to drive from Detroit to the Grand Canyon with my partner next year, currently sorting out some of the logistics of travel such as where we're sleeping and what we're eating. I've decided the most cost effective, comfortable, and exciting option is to temporarily convert my Ford Focus into a mini camper!

This is where ya'll come in - I found that thermoelectric coolers are a thing, which is great because traditional coolers are not a satisfying experience. Have any of you tried Koolatron brand thermoelectrics? I'm specifically looking at the Slim Compact P20 model. Are they worth the price, durable, functional, etc.?

I'd love to go with a Dometic or something more high end, but it isn't in my budget. Koolatron at least seems to have better reviews than Igloo, and is made in North America. Any other noteworthy brands that you've experienced for a similar price point? Good or bad experience of thermoelectrics in general?

Edit: I should maybe mention that we intend to stop at grocery stores along the way, and only want to keep stuff cool and edible for a few days at a time; things like yogurt, sausages, hard cheese, broccoli, along with a couple ice packs for thermal mass (or whatever the opposite of thermal mass is for cold things).

Thanks + happy trails
