Through the desert in July
Well I’ve read through a lot of posts but figured I’d just create my own because it’s getting a little overwhelming for this one decision.. we are doing a West/Southwest roadtrip in July and have to get from Inyo National Forest (Bridgeport) to our quick overnight in Vegas on the way to GC.
Of course driving through Death Valley is an option (I would be kind of sad to miss the NP stamp for this but also excuse to go back) but it again would be midday in July and I’ve never been there so not trying to be an idiot tourist. However, is taking 95 going to be scenic and that much cooler (temperature wise)? Currently looking at taking 395 from Bridgeport to Big Pine, 168 to 266 and then 95. Thoughts?
