Should I Trust My Audi on a Road Trip?

So I'm planning on taking a road trip this coming summer (450 miles there, 450 back) and I'm trying to figure out if I should trust my car for this one or buy a new one. I have a 2008 Audi A4 Quattro, and I have taken care of any issues that have popped up with it. I had my engine light come on once about a year ago, the PCV ended up having to be replaced, and about a month ago it came on again, this time I had to get the purge valve replaced. Besides that everything has been really smooth. The only thing that's making me question if I should think about getting a new car before I go is that my EPC light came on last week, and shortly afterwards flipping on my engine light again. I was able to pull the codes from the car however, later on, that day the EPC light turned off and shortly after the engine light turned off as well. I took it to my mechanic this morning and he said he to bring it back if it comes on again as it could have been an error on the sensors part. (I trust this guy a lot, he's been helping me ever since I got my car.) All of that being said, those are the only issues I have had with my car.

However, I am also in a place in my life right now where I would be able to buy a new car and get a pretty good trade-in value on my car if I really wanted to. I'm not sure if I should get something a bit newer that would more likely be able to make the trip. (2014 or newer). I haven't had too much experience with such things, especially considering I haven't taken my car more than an hour away, so I was just curious if anyone had some input for me.
