Southwest US Suggestions?

My wife and I are doing a lap of the US road trip post vaccination starting from New England. We have 26 days and a few hardpoints - We will be in Bend Oregon for a few days, then Weed CA for a day. On the way back home will be Tulsa for a few days. Things between Weed and Tulsa are flexible.

Our current plan is to go hard on the initial trek west to get to Bend as quickly as possible. The route would be Cleveland, DesMoines, Laramie, Twin Falls, Bend. So 5 days (maybe 4 if we hustle). There isn't a huge amount to see along that path so we were really thinking more in terms of just cranking through the miles as fast as possible. (If anyone has any "cant miss" stops along this path we would love to hear them though).

After we leave Weed our current thought is Death Valley, then 2 nights/1 day in Vegas, then start heading east seeing as much cool southwest stuff as we can fit in. I think we will end up having 4-6 days to play with in that area. My wife is interested in the Petrified Forest, I thought Arches and Zion both looked amazing...

We're definitely interested in seeing wild scenery at the national parks in the area, but we won't be up for extensive hiking. The car we are driving is a cushy sedan and not appropriate for any rough terrain. We also definitely enjoy roadside kitsch/oddities. While we don't mind splurging on a nice hotel here and there, we are expecting to stay mostly in motels to keep costs down...

Any suggestions will be welcome! I am beyond excited for this. Our kids are old enough to be self sufficient and this will be our first solo road trip in probably 20 years.
