Planning a Spring Break camping road trip through West Texas and New Mexico—tips and ideas??
Hello! My roommate and I are thrilled to be going on our first road trip together. We are driving from Austin to Big Bend, then Las Cruces/White Sands, up to Santa Fe, back down to Roswell/Carlsbad Caverns and then home. It should take about 6 days. We will be mostly tent camping out of COVID concern. I am VERY excited, because I have never done something like this before... I am an avid hiker and enjoy camping, but I’ve never gone this far into the wilderness. As two girls, we are kind of nervous about safety, too. I have an Annual National Parks Pass that should be our ticket to a few cool places. Any tips, pointers, or recommendations would be awesome!!!!!!
