Expectations for driving 24 hours in 3 days
My friend is planning a month-long US road trip this summer and I am tagging along for the beginning portion. In the first 3 days, she wants to get from the South Carolina coast to Denver which would mean 3 full days of ~8 hours of driving (stopping in Nashville and Kansas City along the way).
Neither of us has done a road trip before, so I'm trying to temper expectations about how smooth these drives are going to be with just the two of us. I think it's easy to say it's not going to be too bad when you're just looking at the directions on Google Maps. I get sleepy driving long distances especially on boring roadways, so I'm worried it's going to be a struggle. Any advice on what our expectations should be or how to make these drives more interesting?
