First Camping Trip (going to the southwest)
Hi everyone, I have done some searching here but am curious to get additional feedback from anyone who has made this trip.
My wife and I are planning to drive by car from KC to the Grand Canyon. Its about a 12 hour drive (not counting the stops along the way). We are then planning on doing Zion while we are down there (hitting the major trails). We were then thinking of making a circle by cutting north through Utah, then Colorado, then finally Kansas. We will be taking our SUV and a tent with all the main essentials.

I have a few questions as a complete beginner:
- Is all this doable in 5-7 days? Or is that even too much time and we should stretch it out to Cali? We aren't sure how long Zion stays interesting.
- We are taking the back seats out of our car to car camp if needed but also have the tent. Can we leave the tent up at the campground while we drive out to the hiking trails? Or do you guys recommend taking down the tent every time we leave camp?
