Driving from Boston to Salt Lake City [Advice Needed!]
Hello, everyone! I'm hitting up this subreddit because I want to get some advice on how to break up a road trip from Boston to SLC.
For context: I am from SLC, but I have a friend who lives close to Boston who is going to move to SLC with me. I fly out to Boston in June, and then we are road-tripping the whole way back with just the two of us.
With all that in mind, what would be a good way to break it up? Here are my two different itineraries:
3 Day Trip
Boston, MA -> Toledo, OH (12 hr)
Toledo, OH -> Lincoln, NE (12 hr)
Lincoln, NE -> SLC, UT (13 hr)
4 day trip
Boston, MA -> Cleveland, OH (10 hr)
Cleveland, OH -> Des Moines, IA (10.5 hr)
Des Moines, IA -> Cheyenne, WY (9.5 hr)
Cheyenne, WY -> SLC, UT (7 hr)
I have a decent amount of road trip experience but never something this far; my friend only has a little bit. I've read that 12 hours between 2 drivers is totally doable, but for three days straight? I don't know if that'll be crazy or not. However, I'd like to get back to Utah as quickly as possible if we can. Let me know what you think.
