Vegas to southern Utah and back... need help filling in the gaps
I just started planning a semi last minute road trip for me and the gf and I have the basics in place. I just know there are so many hidden gems out there and I’d love some insight, googling will only get you so far. Here’s what I got:
Fly into Vegas on Friday, pick up rented campervan Saturday morning and drive straight to Zion. 2 nights near Zion.
Plan to leave Zion on Monday morning and drive to Bryce for some light hiking and for sunset. Spend the night near here, catch the sunrise and leave.
Tuesday morning take Highway 12 to Capitol Reef (I’m a sucker for a scenic drive but putting this drive into my loop has been a pain) spend the night near here.
And this is where I really need help, my first thought was to take the 95 down into monument valley and then over to Page, AZ but this seems like a lot of driving for not much to do. My other option is to take highway 24 west, which ultimately will take me to interstate 15, which takes me back to Vegas.
There seems to be a ton of places that we could go on this route back to Vegas but I’d love to get some local knowledge. If you have suggestions for another route, stops along the way, or anything really, I am all ears.
We have the van for 7 nights btw.
