I’m planning a three month road trip beginning the last week of February. I have a Chevy Colorado with a truck camping set up and I’m looking to snowboard and hike the whole time.

The trip will start in Jackson, Wyoming, take me down to Utah, Colorado, Arizona, potentially the Mexican Baja, then back up to the sierras, PNW, Montana, and end back in Jackson.

I’m debating whether or not to drop money on top of the line snow tires (Blizaaks). My concern is that with all those miles they will get worn out fairly quick. I will need them the first portion of the trip but the Baja and PNW will be warm by the time I am there at some point in May.

Should I get snow tires to up my grip in the mountains or find a crossover tire?
