Moving Cross Country CA to NY in March/April...will snow be a problem?

Hi All, like the title says, I'm hoping to move across the country from NorCal to NYC sometime before April. I have a 1992 Toyota Pickup. The longest road trip I've been on is between the Bay and SoCal, and as you can imagine, I have never had to deal with snow. I'm wondering if a road trip across the country during those months would be feasible. I would probably book air bnb's a day in advance of the state I was going to be in. I also don't have too much stuff so I wouldn't be opposed to sleeping in the back of my truck. But my main concern is if my lil truck could make it through snowy states. I would be open to a longer road trip, where I dip down south and drive through warmer states.

Anyone have any advice or insight?
