Looking for ideas for New England road trip
I'm looking to plan a road trip (as long as COVID stuff gets better) to the New England states. I'm looking for great places to camp and hike (Acadia National Park will be part of the trip) but also wondering what other places are worth checking out. I'm looking to do the whole trip around 10-14 days. It'll take about a day and a half or 2 just to get to and from the New England region from where I live. So if people have ideas of places to stop along the way or the way home, that would also be welcome! I do not plan to drive through Canada as I don't foresee Canada lifting the restrictions on foreign visitors.
I am from Minnesota and farthest "northeast" I've ever been in the country was Nashville, TN (which is definitely not the northeast). The other thing I know I need to plan for is toll roads because those don't exist in the upper midwest (I guess there is like one in MPLS, St Paul area but it's like a quarter and only like 10 miles long).
Would love to hear some ideas!
