COVID Roadtrip
Hello! I am coming here in hopes of gaining some sort of blue print for a multi-month road trip of sorts. My current lease ends April 1st and being that I am working remotely, I am planning to travel (safely, of course) and be on the road with my dog. My though is to spend 2 weeks or so at a time stationed in a location and be able to explore on the weekends and after work hours. Since COVID is still very much a thing, I would prefer to be in the woods so state parks and national parks are most of interest to me as well as any other socially distanced activity I can do by myself (and with my dog). As for finding accommodations, I am not picky and just need places where I can have a solid internet connection M-F and that allows pets (he's emotional support but not a service animal).
For further context, I will be starting out in the Philly area and was thinking of going south as I have family in Columbia, SC and haven't spent much time along the panhandle of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, etc. I think Shenandoah and The Great Smokey Mtns are right up my alley, but again any input on where to stay would be appreciated as I don't need to be super close and am fine with being still a drive away.
I am only asking for suggestions so please leave any other comments/personal opinions regarding traveling during COVID to yourself.
