Hey all, I will be driving from WA so NC (US) at the end of this month/early January.

I have 2 plan of actions:

Drive south to Nevada area and then head east

Or

Take the fastest route traveling north (through Montana, South dakota, Minnesota, wisconsin) and then heading south until I reach my destination.

Reason for my debate is im not sure how the southern end of these states will look weather wise. Does anyone think I would encounter any nasty snow?

Further, not sure if it exists, but is there a reliable app in existence that after putting in your GPS, it would tell you the weather along the way? (If not im going to start developing it now!)

Thanks! Any other travel tips would be greatly appreciated! Traveling with 3 cats and ive never driven this far before!
