Valentines Trip idea
My husband and I are planning this trip for mid February. It would be partly a Valentines vacation but also a chance to see family before his overseas deployment in March. Here is the projected routes and stops.
Day 1. Leave Minneapolis, MN for Denver, CO Day 2. Explore Denver Day 3. Leave Denver, CO for San Angelo, TX Day 4. Drive across Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, and make our way up to Dallas for the night. Day 5. Leave Dallas, TX for Tallahassee, FL Day 6. Leave Tallahassee, FL to Miami, FL with a possible quick stop in Orlando. Day 7. (Valentines) Explore Miami. Day 8. Leave Miami, FL for Nashville, TN. Day 9. Leave Nashville, TN for Minneapolis, MN.
We plan to drive at night as little as possible so we can actually see stuff and not get super tired. Don't care to sleep anywhere super nice except maybe for Valentines. He has been to Colorado and I been to Tennessee but none of us have been to South Dakota, New Mexico, Kentucky, Indiana or Illinois so we def wanna see those states.
Does this seem doable with these days, and what would you expect our budget to be? Any recommendations for views/stops and eats?
I know it will take 3 days worth of driving. We done the haul from Minneapolis to Dallas plenty of times so we know we can handle 14ish hours without really stopping much.
