Hello good people of /r/roadtrip ! I've never driven more than to commute for work, so driving from San Jose CA to Albuquerque is a big undertaking for me. I'm trying to do all the planning I can ahead of time to make it as smooth as possible.

I've tried googling, but most of the posts I've found are 5+ years old. Are there issues with cell phone coverage now? Between CA and NM.

Related to that, I'm going to have some water and snacks in the car, but will anymore of a kit be needed? I'll be making the trip mid March, maybe April, so hopefully snow won't be an issue by then?
