I live in Chicago and am getting 3 weeks off from work starting at Christmas. Need suggestions for solo road trip destination states. Details in the description. Help!
Hey, you guys, I work in Chicago and I am finally taking 3 weeks off from work after busting my butt all year long. My break starts on Christmas day. I need suggestions for where can I go on a 2-3 week long solo road trip. Here's what I am looking for:
- I am looking for some place that is within 16-20 hours away. Not more than that. Preferably, closer if possible.
- I am a stoner and don't have a medical marijuana card, so I want to go to one of the states where weed is legal recreationally. That basically narrows my options down to Michigan, Colorado, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine.
- Hopefully some place that is not freezing cold. I am okay with the place having temperatures as low as 40-50 F in late December/early-mid January, but hopefully not below that.
- I'd prefer if the state has access to nature -- hiking trails, open country, etc.
- I'd also like to avoid places that get blizzards, or a lot of snow during late December/early-mid January, since I will be driving by myself and I don't have any experience dealing with situations like getting stuck in a blizzard. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to make it out alive if that happens. I have done a lot of long road trips in warmer states before, so driving in general is not a problem. It's just that I am not confident about my ability to handle snowstorms while driving.
I realize that that was a lot of parameters. Please help me make the best use of these 3 weeks.
