I-40 Through Arizona in January . . . Winter Driving Concerns?

I'll be driving from Dallas, TX to Modesto, CA in early January. The quickest route is I-40 but I wanted to get some opinions on the weather and typical driving conditions through Arizona, particularly the 100 miles or so either side of Flagstaff. Should I be overly concerned about winter driving conditions?
A more southerly route through Phoenix on I-10 is an option but that adds 120 miles. I'll be in a 2015 2wd Toyota Tacoma. Your thoughts are appreciated.
