Car camping through NM, AZ, and southern UT.
So I am planning to camp out of my car. I am okay with doing some hotel stops if I get desperate or need a washer, etc.
Can someone advise me on the best way to find campsites with some basic amenities like showers? Do any of them have showers during COVID? I don't need one everyday but it would be nice to know where some are. I have pinned on my phone some KOA and seemingly free/cheap campsites outside of national parks (I know national park campsites are very booked) and I know Walmart and casino parking lots are another option. If anyone has any favorite car camping spots in these states, let me know!
And any general advice for doing this/not dying in the winter is also appreciated. I have a 4x4 vehicle but am not an expert in winter driving conditions.
