Road trip planning with puppy from DFW to San Diego
I want to see my family back in California and want to take my dog. I’ve done some extensive searching, my biggest concern is that I’m doing the drive solo with my 7 month old pup. It’s going to be nearly 18 hours of driving, I figured I’d do it in 2 legs of 9 hours each with a rest for her about every 4 hours or so she can have potty breaks and stretch out her legs. Most of what I’ve googled is usually a trip with another person. Has anyone done a lengthy road trip with a dog solo?
I’m planning on renting a SUV. I usually have my pup attached to the seat belt in the passenger seat in my car, I figured for the trip it might be best to get a pup carrier so she has more room in the backseat. Any tips would be helpful!
