I have never gone on a road trip though I've always wanted to. I've been asking my family and friends to do one with me and no one is up for it. I wish I wasn't doing it alone, but I know if I keep waiting for someone to do it with, it will never happen. I want to drive from NY to FL with my 4-year old. My plan is to reach Orlando, stay for a day or two and visit Magic Kingdom at Disney World and then continue on to Fort Lauderdale to stay with my best friend. My question is, if I've never driven such a distance before, how many hours should I aim for before I rest? And at which points would you recommend I stop at a hotel and sleep overnight?
