Colorado/Utah Family Road Trip
Not my first time doing Colorado along with Canyonlands and Arches. It is my wife and two kids' first time though. We are a family of 4 from PA. We are in our 30s with twin 7 year olds. This trip is ambitious, but doable. We have rented a spacious mini-van and they are used to traveling! We are going the second week in October. Let me know of your suggested stops along this route!
Day 1: Flying into Denver and heading to Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Sleeping in Paonia, CO that night.
Day 2: Then it's off to Arches NP and sleeping in Moab, UT.
Day 3: Leaving Moab and visiting Canyonlands NP. Driving to or through Goblin Valley, making our way to Capitol Reef NP and sleeping in Torrey, UT.
Day 4: Heading to Bryce Canyon NP and staying in Alton, UT.
Day 5: Starting the day off in Zion NP and making our way over to Monument Valley where we have the cutest AirBNB!
Day 6: Waking up on our 10th wedding anniversary in Monument Valley and heading over to Mesa Verde NP. After we are scooting over to Pagosa Springs for the night.
Day 7: Going to UFO Watchtower, Great Sand Dunes NP, and Royal Gorge, staying in Cańon City for the night.
Day 8: Then we are hitting Pikes Peak/Manitou Springs (Manitou Brewing Co.!!!) and going to Denver where we will stay at a cheap hotel before we depart at 6 am!
