Initial New England And More 60 DAY Fall Foliage Plan
Advice appreciated!
- Things to note:
- Have a doggo
- Will be still working
- START: Pittsburgh, PA
- Day 1 SATURDAY: Drive to Grove City (friend there) [2hrs]
- Day 2-6 SUN-THURS: Stay in area with friend/family there to work during the day
- Kayak down Allegheny
- Day 6 THURS EVE: Drive to Finger Lakes [4-5hrs]
- Day 7 FRI: Camp in Finger Lakes, take vacation day
- DAY 8 SAT: Drive to Adirondacks [4hrs]
- DAY 9-10 SUN-MON: Stay in area with friend, work
- DAY 11 TUES EVE: Drive to Stowe VT via Burlington after work [3hrs]
- DAY 12-14 WED-FRI: Stay in Stowe to work
- Gondola, corn maze, some other activities. for the evening
- DAY 14 FRI EVE: Drive to Grafton Notch State Park [3 hrs]
- stop at Dog Mountain
- DAY 15-16 SAT-SUN: Drive down to Woodstock VT via Mt Washington Auto Road NH [3hrs]
- DAY 17-21 MON-FRI: Stay in Woodstock to work
- Hiking, drive in theater, orchard, etc
- DAY 21-23 FRI EVE-SUN: Drive to Meredith to meet up with friends [2hr]
- DAY 23-28 SUN EVE-FRI: Drive to Boston, spend week with friend for working [2hr]
- DAY 29-31 FRI EVE-SUN: Drive to NYC, stop along the way to see things? [4hrs]
- DAY 31-35 SUN EVE-THUR: NYC with friends, working
- DAY 36 FRI: Take off work, drive to Tom's River [1.5hr]
- DAY 37 SAT: Lewe's DE [3hrs] or Newark DE [2hrs]
- DAY 38 SUN: Annapolis MD [2hrs]
- DAY 38-45 SUN EVE-SUN: Drive to Frederickburg VA to visit friend, stay extra weekend, work [2hr]
- DAY 45 SUN: Drive to Louisville KY [9 hrs] (may need to take a day off work to do this in 2 days)
- DAY 46-50 MON-FRI: Stay in Louisville, with friend, work
- DAY 50-53 FRI EVE-MON: Camp in Red River Gorge with friends [2hrs]
- DAY 53-57 MON-FRI: Drive to Cinci, stay with friends, work [2.5hr]
- DAY 58-59 SAT-SUN: Drive back to Pittsburgh via ? [5hr]
Trying to keep driving each day to a minimum.
When not with friends, will likely car camp. Will get mifi and some sort of solar panel charging device to stay connected at work.
I have a huge list of to dos, things to think about re:
- bedding
- storage (food? clothes? etc)
- power
- showering/laundry
- weather protection (get winter sleeping bag, etc)
- photography
- dog considerations
- food
if anyone has advice on any of that while I'm figuring that part out, too, that'd be much appreciated.
