Cross Country Road Trip with Dog
Hi All, my amazing wife recently got a job in Los Angeles so we will be moving out there in about a month. We currently live in Pittsburgh, PA. She got a sweet relocation package where they move everything out there and pay to ship our cars and fly out there. However we have an 80lb 6 year old baby bluetick coonhound/ golden retriever mix who would not be able to handle cargo flying (I’d be a nervous wreck too). So the plan is for my wife to fly out and for me to road trip from Pittsburgh->LA with my brother and pup then fly my bro home. The relocation package would reimburse us for mileage and for lodging during the trip. My question is what would be the best route to take with dog friendly stops along the way so we can walk/hike with my dog to tire him out. Ideally we’d do the dive over a 3-4day span and stop at pet friendly hotels along the way. We’d be cool with diverting from the route to see something scenic along the way.
