Road trip from China to Venice
I am a single M61 and over the last years I have been travelling a lot alone to destinations like Iran, Uzbekistan and Argentina. Despite the Corona crisis, I am currently making a road trip through Europe by car that will bring me through 10 countries
When I will retire in 4 years time, my plan is to undertake a trip by 'the Silk roads' from China to Venice, by only using road transport (bus, tain, car, walk, cycle) without taking any plane. I might first get to China and Mongolia using the Trandsiberian Railways from Moscow. In my trip from China to Venice - about 3-4 months, circuit still to be determined - I want to travel alone, but sometimes accompanied for certain sections by friends (eg the part in China or Iran) - several friends already expressed interest, even when it id still four years from now.
Has anyone done something similar? What tips could you give in terms of regions to visit (or to avoid), what areas are difficult or dangerous for solo travellers, how to cope with temperature intervals and luggage (I would travel between March and July)?
