I have about a week of vacation I need to burn before the end of summer and with everything going on I’d prefer not to fly. So I was thinking of taking a road trip and I’m looking for advice on an itinerary. I’m based out of Charlotte and I’m interested in hiking, history and good food. My preliminary agenda is below: Charlotte-Asheville(2 days)-drive along the blue ridge parkway up to Roanoke(2 days)-Richmond(2 days)-small beach town in Virginia or North Carolina (3 days) then back home. I think I’m going to camp near Asheville and maybe Roanoke, then hotel or Airbnb for the rest of the trip. Has anyone done a trip similar to this?
