Is it a bad idea to drive 2005 Pontiac vibe from Chicago to San Diego?
I’m planning to drive from chi to San Diego at the end of this month. I want to spend 4 days max for the trip. It’s only me (I’m a girl and know only basics about cars.)
My car is Pontiac vibe 2005 with 168000 miles on it. I will do the diagnostics prior my trip to make sure there are no surprises but I’m still worried if this kind of car can take it. I know I’ll have to drive through mountains at some point and I would like to find a rout that will be longer maybe but with not as much elevation (if there’s an option.)
Do you have any recommendations or thoughts? Is it realistic with an oldish car like this? Are there routs with less mountains? What should I absolutely have in my car in case of emergencies?
