Advice for road trip novice for big road trip
I am planning a road trip for myself, my boyfriend, and our pup. I am wondering how long it will take/how much time off work I will need to request. Here's my basic idea:
Atlanta, GA*
Birmingham, AL
Memphis, TN
Little Rock, AK
Fort Smith, AK*
Big Ben National Park, TX*
Carlsbad Caverns, NM
White Sands National Park, NM
Santa Fe, NM
Arapaho Natl Forest, Colorado
Grand Teton, WY*
Glacier Natl Park, MT
Minneapolis, MN
Chicago, IL*
Fort Campbell, KY* / Nashville, TN
Chattanooga, TN
Atlanta, GA*
Google maps says just under 100 hours of driving, and about 6,000 miles How many days will that take? I know it varies on how much stopping, but would it be feasible in 14 to 17 days?
The cities I have outlined above are where we would stop to visit. The ones with * denote places we would probably stay the night and are places we definitely want to stop at, while some of the other cities are more flexible if there's a better route. We are hoping to have a mix of camping and staying at airbnbs, and will stay with friends in AK, IL, and KY. Our main goal is to see national parks and hike/fish/be outdoors.
Any advice would be appreciated! If anyone has any products that they highly recommend feel free to lmk! Thanks in advance.
