Southeastern US recommendations for a March trip
I’m in the beginning stage of trying to plan a trip for the beginning of March next year (provided it is safe to do so at that time).
This would be a romantic/relaxing honeymoon getaway and we’d prefer somewhere within a 10-12 hour drive of the Philly area. We enjoy natural sights, the outdoors, quaint towns, and prefer the not-so-crowded/off the beaten path spots.
Ideally, I’d like to pick one spot as a “home base” and sightsee within that general area but would be open to splitting the trip in two destinations. (~6 days total trip length)
I’m leaning towards North and/or South Carolina since they are still on my states bucket list.
I’d love any recommendations on where to stay and any must see sights that seem to fit the bill-especially considering the March timeframe. Thanks!
