Cross country drive advise during covid. Philly to Seattle.
Hey r/roadtrip, I know there have been quite a few posts asking for advice, but I wanted to ask during this unique time for your help.
My partner recently graduated medical school, and will start working in a hospital in Seattle in June. Let me say this, We would definitely not be doing this trip if we didn’t have to. We will be driving from Philadelphia to Seattle in late may/ early June and could use your advice, as this will be our first cross country drive. We would like to try to make the most of this drive. As the virus has taken away a lot of the celebrations that normally come with a big graduation, so we are trying our best to make the drive beautiful and fun. We’re not rushing, and would be happy to take the scenic route if possible. Any advice is appreciated, and I’ve listed a few specific questions below.
1) any general advice for a cross country trip would be appreciated.
2) route recommendations for philly to San Francisco. We’re happy to take smaller roads and take detours to see things.
3) must see stops along the way. Some hikes may be possible, any hiking spots to check out? Or anything that is just a beauty to pull over and look at
Thank you in advance for your help! Stay safe and healthy.
