Would it be worth it to drive through Labrador to get to Newfoundland?
Sometime in the unforeseeable future I’d like to take a trip to Newfoundland. I’m aiming towards going around May but I not sure of the length - I’m hoping for more than a month.
The original plan was to go to Niagara Falls then off to New Sydney for the ferry. Which would be 20 some hours. I’d be coming from Illinois.
But you can also go through Labrador and go to Blanc Sablon for the ferry. It would double the time but I’d take out Niagara Falls.
As I’ve been looking for places to visit, I thought I’d combine the two territories together in one trip. It seems like there are neat things to see- I like the nature appeal of the journey (lights and possible animal sightings). Would it be good to explore the land or stick to the main road? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
