Friend planning NY to Cali Desert Roundtrip
A friend has been planning a roundtrip road trip with a rental car between NY and California Desert within the next week. They are now worried by what they’re reading about New Yorkers being targeted in certain states by police. Their trip is planned to be a nature seeing trip and stay somewhere isolated in the desert for a few weeks and drive back. I believe they’re doing a straight drive first, sleeping in the car on a few stops, going to the desert at an Airbnb and then on the way back stopping in different states to check out parks and views. Is there a chance, if they get pulled over during the trip, that police might detain them and enforce some sort of 14-day quarantine? Anyone with experience on this as it’s kind of a new situation? They’re doing the trip on a tight budget so they’re afraid they’ll get stuck somewhere they don’t want to be.
