Planning a trip down the U.S. west coast from Canada and looking for advise!
Hey everyone,
Lurked this community for a while and know it can be rather insightful when it comes to planning. My girlfriend and I are planning to travel down the west coast this summer with our end goal being Yosemite (we're climbers and it quite a bit of weight in the community). We're planning to make this a 3 to 4 week adventure and since neither of us have spent a lot of time on the west coast we are looking for tips on where else to visit along the way!
The plan is to spend the first half travelling down the coast then eventually settle in Yosemite for a little while before heading back up the scenic route through Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and finally Washington.
Obviously there is a lot of rich history along the way and we'd like to get in as much exploration as possible while we travel. We're just going by SUV and camping. We're very outdoorsy so any suggestions that push us in that direction are greatly appreciated! If there are other things to experience that are highly recommended feel free to suggest those as well! (Ie. Big cities or touristy nonsense that is actually a lot of fun).
