Driving From Joshua Tree, CA to Okeechobee, FL in March, Good Places to Stop on the Way?

Like the title says, I'll be driving from Southern California to Southern Florida in about a month, and I'm looking for some cool places to stop on the way there.

I'll definitely be going to Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, NM (been several times before and love it!), and depending on finances might also take the tramway in Albuquerque while I'm out there. Next planned stop is San Antonio, TX where my mom lives. I'll probably be staying with her for about a week.

Between Texas and Florida, though, I don't have any planned stops. Looking for some ideally free or super low cost things to do on the trip.

I'm on a super tight budget money wise, but time wise I'm pretty flexible. I can leave whenever I need to to have time to do things on the trip, and my car is converted into a mini-camper so hotels aren't an issue.

Short hikes and free museums are always fun, also a huge fan of weird roadside attractions.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
