Somewhere beautiful to drive to for Christmas, south of Vancouver BC, maybe as far as San Francisco give or take a few hours.

We have the week off over Christmas, so 9 full days to play with. We are Aussies living in Vancouver, BC for the last 6 years. We have a Chevy Astro converted camper. We want to see something beautiful in Winter somewhere south and San Francisco is about as far South as we can get comfortably and still get back within time frame (we don't mind doing 6 or so hours a day driving).
Going inland is a bit tricky because of all the mountain passes and we wouldn't want to get stuck.
We have winter tires, will buy chains.
We've already spent a NYE in Banff so we've done the super cold thing in the north (and I really hate that Kicking Horse pass during winter, wont be doing that again if I don't have to).
Any thoughts? We like to camp, but are open to any suggestions. We've done Portland many times so please don't suggest that. Seems like there's a lot of cute coastal towns down south!

EDIT: what I mean is, we like to have a goal when we road trip. We did Yellowstone via many many places over summer, or Lake Louise the summer before, etc. We like to experience the exceptional beauty of NA and we'd like to see something pretty in the winter.
