Need advice: Boise to Dallas end of Oct/Nov
Howdy all!
Job is forcing me to move to the Dallas area, we have already secured a house down there but have yet to move. I HAVE to be there sometime middle of November but id like as much time as possible.
The question (and my worry) is how late is too late to worry about making that trip before the weather turns bad (snow/ice/etc) on any leg of the trip?
There are two major paths:
1.) From Boise to Ogden, head east to Fort Collins/Denver, then over through KS then straight down through OK to Texas.
2.) From Boise to Ogden, then continue south through UT on 191, cut over to 491, to 550 (NM), finally head east from Albuquerque through Amarillo then down to Dallas.
I have done the trip twice in the past month (there and back, the Denver route) and it wasn't too bad just going 13-15hr days. But with winter coming, I don't know when specific stretches of it get dangerous.
Any advice is appreciated!
