Road trip planner that also works for navigation
I am planning a 3-day Fall Road trip on Columbus Day Weekend. After reading a few travel books, travel forums and some blog posts, I planned the trip with various options (One of the examples is here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aXruSL9jCbK2MWw5RMea2lDd9Y3UeQn_&usp=sharing ) The goal of the trip is to enjoy the Fall colors while driving so the destination is not as important but the exact route is. No rush of reaching early or quickly to the destination.
Now the problem is Google Maps does NOT offer navigation option for this planned trip in 'My Maps'. In the past, I have tried using markers for navigation but it was a LOT of hassle as Google Maps would keep us rerouting. It was so frustrating that we were more focused on the route than actually enjoying the road trip.
I exported this trip to kml/kmz format to import in Garmin unit (Drivesmart 50) but it didn't work as expected. Replanning the trip in Basecamp is not as easy. I have tried most (well regarded) Android apps but I didn't find this feature in any of those. OsmAnd came close as it has a trip planning feature in iOS but in Android, they have a trip recording feature. I could not find a trip planning feature.
Is there is any freeware or not so expensive option for a trip planner that also works as a navigator?
