Planning road trip from Denver to Olympic National Park in WA.
My wife and I are planning the 2nd leg of our road trip.
Our time frame is roughly 3 wks (starting next wk, Oct 7th), and we'll be car camping the entire time. For now, our plan is to hit the following places along the route:
Moab, UT --> Arches NP
Bonneville Salt Flats, UT
Shoshone Falls, ID
Craters of the Moon Natl. Monument
Grand Teton NP
Yellowstone NP
Glacier NP
Coeur d'Alene, ID
Colonial Creek Campground (explore the nearby Diablo Lake and Ross Lake)
Olympic NP
What do you guys think? I was basically looking for suggestions/ideas as to what else we can do along this route. I know it looks hectic, but even suggestions of what we can do at the locations listed would be great, bc right now this is just a rough path (we're working on researching ea location more). We're mostly into outdoorsy stuff, but also enjoy checking out quirky attractions. I'm also trying my hand at astrophotography, so if any of you know a good spot to photograph the milky way at any of the national parks listed above, that'd be sweet!
Thanks!
