South America Itinerary Help

Hi friends,I am in the process of planning my South America trip. I will be studying in Buenos Aires for a month and would very much like to travel northward before heading home. I have reviewed posts on this sub and done research, but I still would love to get feedback from others who may have done a similar trip or visited any of the following places. This is my tentative plan:Destination (Bolded)Number of Days in LocationFly from LAX to Santiago, Chile3 DaysFly Santiago, Chile - Buenos Aires, Argentina1 month w/ weekend trip to Montevideo, Uruguay and weekend trip to Patagonia region (either Ushuia or Los Glaciares National Park)Fly Buenos Aires, Argentina - Iguazu Falls2 DaysFly RT Foz do Iguaçu Airport - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil7 DaysTake bus from Cuidad del Este to Asuncion, Paraguay3 Days*** Asuncion, Paraguay to Uyuni, Bolivia (Salar de Unuyi)4 DaysBus Uyuni, Bolivia - La Paz, Bolivia2 DaysBus La Paz, Bolivia - Cusco, Peru (Macchu Pichu)5 DaysFly Cusco, Peru - Lima, Peru3 Days*** Lima, Peru - Quito, Ecuador4 Days*** Quito, Ecuador - Bogota, Colombia4 DaysBus Bogota, Colombia - Medellin, Colombia4 DaysBus Medellin, Colombia - Cartegena, Colombia4 DaysEnd Cartegena to LAX5 DaysThe locations with *** are those which I have not yet decided on a method of transportation. I am open to taking a bus (if I am not mistaken, the latter two are 10+ hour trips), as I know flying can be expensive from country to county. Has anyone done these?Additionally, I would love feedback on the number of days I should spend in each city and if there are any locations along this tentative route which I should add.I also want to preface that I know other travelers go at a different pace than me (and will do this journey over 6+ months), but please understand this is what I am most comfortable with (especially as a solo female traveler). To be as candid as possible, I backpacked Europe last year and it did not end on the best of terms and I am regaining my confidence to be out in the world alone. Please send me any recommendations/tips you have! I would greatly appreciate it. via /r/solotravel https://ift.tt/2JTq3Y5
