Solo roadtrip Italian dolomites or Iceland in early September?

Trying to decide whether to do a solo road trip to Dolomites or Iceland in early September. I have about a week to do so. Both look super interesting and looking for any insight to help make my decision.

Some other information:

  • Any concerns about driving in Italian dolomites? (I hear Iceland is pretty straightforward). I can drive Manual transmission (though it's been a while).

  • Looking to do some "light" hiking. Perhaps half a day - could do a full day if it's really worthwhile.

  • Airfare costs are about the same (this is a stopover for another trip I'm doing)
