Solo Europe Backpacking Advice

Hello fellow redditors. I'm sure you've seen plenty of these posts so bear with me. I recently graduated from college and won't be starting work until the fall, and am planning a solo backpacking trip to Europe. I have done some research on cities/places I'd potentially like to visit, but know that I need to narrow it down so I can enjoy each instead of spending too much time traveling.Length: 2.5 Weeks (August 31-September 19)Budget: Not a huge concern, as I have been planning for this trip for the past year. Already have flights to and from the United States, into and out of London.Climate: Also not a huge concern. Do not mind cold or hot, mainly would like to experience as much as reasonable, and take weather as it comes and roll with it.Interests:Food: I am a huge foodie, and will try just about anything and everything. Would like to hit a few higher class restaurants when appropriate but also have no issue vibin' with more low key options such as street vendors or farmers markets.Culture: Some of these cities I know are rich in cultural history and being city folk myself would love to have time to explore some of the must-see areas, but also would like to explore for those who have off the radar suggestions .Outdoors: Although a city boy, I also love the outdoors and a little adventure. Anything from mountain hiking to beaches to smaller villages/lakes, time permitting, I am in.General: Hoping to land on a route that would give me time to experience city/night life as well as more laid back, outdoorsy, days to explore and catch my breath.Safety/Language: Not overly concerned, but know I will need to be vigilant traveling alone. I have been warned about parts of Southern Italy, and plan on keeping the alcohol intake fairly low throughout the trip. While not fluent in Spanish, I could probably hold a decent conversation in it. More concerned about being ripped off/scammed in places with a language barrier, but also realize this comes with the territory.Cities that my buddies with traveling experience have recommended:LondonParisBarcelonaVeniceFlorenceRomeSplitBudapestViennaPragueAmsterdamI am hoping to hit 4-5 cities, and will be staying in either hostels or airbnb's. As mentioned briefly above, I definitely still have my fair share of research to do but I felt like this would be a great place to start to narrow down the list for my timeframe. I feel having a more definite route will help me plan my activities accordingly. Thanks for helping a newbie out! via /r/solotravel https://ift.tt/2M5nfIx
