Your Longest Drive Non-Stop
The Wife and I are planning our longest road trip yet (FL to WI) and it's going to be roughly 1,500 miles each way. According to Google, it will take about 23 hours to arrive. This will be the second longest trip I've done and the longest she has done ever. My longest was FL to NY by myself, but that was only around 800-900 miles I think. We plan on driving non-stop (except for gas, food, and to let our dog walk around some). Even though I'd rather drive half way and crash at a hotel, our sweet dog is a loudmouth and I'd hate to get kicked out of a hotel at 3 AM in some small town. She's the reason we are driving and not flying, because after gas, an oil change, food, possible break-down, etc. it should still be cheaper. I plan on doing nearly all of the driving myself (at least 15-20 hours straight).
Does anyone have any experience with driving long-ish distances such as this? Any advice/stories would be helpful.
