Do you like every person you meet when traveling?

On my last trip I stayed at a hostel in DC. I met a lot of interesting people, talked a lot about their culture and all that, but then I also met some people that just got on my nerves. One was some girl who was on some around the world journey where she was visiting as much places as possible. Now it's not weird to be on that, but it was her attitude to it that got on my nerves. I had been in the city a few days longer than her, but she made the point to say "wow you've been here longer than me and I've already seen more places than you".Wtf? I have to smile and be nice to a comment like that. I don't travel to get into some selfie competition with other people. I visit only the places I want to and spend as much time as I want just taking it all in. If I end up missing some popular spot, oh well, maybe next time.Another dude was a fucking dudebro type. You could hear him walking down the hall just saying "Sup" to everybody. I prayed he wasnt heading to my room, but sure enough he was. Walks in and starts complaining about how there are old people here. Then without knowing me for more than 10 seconds says "Let's go get some beers".It was so hard to be positive and nice to those people, but I was trying my best to be optimistic.Ay, maybe this is more of a rant than a question, but I still wouldn't mind hearing that I'm not the only one who's experienced this stuff. via /r/solotravel https://ift.tt/2RPGuHc
