What are the best locations for hippies to live and travel?
Where are the best locations for hippies in the USA or internationally? I recently took a part time job online, that will allow me to travel and pay the bills. It's a big pay-cut, and I'll have to rent out my home to make ends meet but that's a trade off I'm willing to make. For those interested, it's an online teaching role in IT. Anyways, I'm a little nervous about making such a huge lifestyle change from working at a 9-5 job in a startup, to full time travel. It's my hope that if I can find areas that are a good match for my interests then I will be able to fit in more easily. My biggest concern is that I'll end up so isolated that I'll hate every minute that I'm away from home. I think that I would be most comfortable with "slow travel", staying in one place for two or three months and taking day trips to other locations nearby. With that in mind, here is what I'm looking for.
- Live comfortably with ~2,000USD a month
- Has an active "spiritual" community. I'm interested in Astrology, New Age and other things that would make a scientific materialist tilt their head. Please don't get too fired up, I'm just curious about metaphysics!
- Good food (I'm omnivorous)
- Good music scene (bars, restaurants, clubs etc.)
- I'd prefer to stay in co-living or woofing type living situations.
- Legal or decriminalized Marijuana.
