Weather in the Dolomites during Mid-July
I've been planning on visiting the Dolomites in Mid-July, but I want to avoid hot weather (above 80F/27C) as I wanted to be hiking for the majority of my trip. However, every time I Google something about the Dolomites weather, each website gives me a different answer. Using Cortina d'Ampezzo as a proxy since I will be using one of these cities as a "hub", I get:
Average Highs:
* 90F-99F (32C-37C) <- wtf?
Has anyone been hiking in the Dolomites area the past few Julys and have some anecdotal evidence? Was it too hot to hike? I figured the high altitude would make it cooler, but even Denver get's pretty hot (90F +).
